Could Foreign Ownership Restrictions be Lifted for Properties Over $5m?

The rumour mill has been buzzing in recent weeks with a hint that the Government may ease foreign ownership restrictions on properties over $5m.

During the 2023 election campaign the National Party announced a policy of rolling back restrictions on properties over $2m only for coalition partner NZ First to veto that proposition as part of their negotiations.
